Discussions start at 6:30
Guest Speaker Monique Simard, President of Alternatives Board
On June 6 Alternatives will be hosting a soirée dedicated to rooftop gardening in the global context - how can urban gardens influence food politics and reinforce local food security in various world areas?
You will hear briefly about our winter adventures in Cuba, Senegal, and Mexico and see photos of related projects from each destination. The evening’s activities will be centered around a group discussion investigating the potential of urban agriculture production in various world contexts and exploring the challenges faced by urban farmers worldwide. We hope to delve into various areas of interest surrounding urban agriculture, including land rights, water access, and health issues. So bring your ideas, or just come fresh and form them on the spot!
The event will be animated by special guests from various montreal organizations and we will have the chance to meet some of our Cuban partners who will be visiting Montreal.
Come join us for scintillating conversation, dazzling photo exhibits and of course drinks and good food on the table!
