The objective of the Urban Ecology Center is to develop and disseminate an expertise in urban sustainable development, as well as how to apply this expertise throughout Montréal. The University of Québec is offering an area of 500m2 on the roof of their building at 4750 Henri-Julien in the Plateau Mont-Royal district of Montréal for our use this season, with Mme. Lise Parent (professor of environmental studies) overseeing the project. Situated on the roof of a university, the garden will be well placed to serve as a model for other educational structures, private and public alike.
