New Course at Concordia: Understanding Sustainability in a Changing World

Understanding Sustainability in a Changing World
Registration has begun for this non-credited course which starts in January at the School of Extended Learning at Concordia University.

BA 984/B1 UNDERSTANDING SUSTAINABILITY IN A CHANGING WORLD

Albert Einstein warned that, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." This course aims to empower students with the tools to evolve and adapt their thinking and actions to our changing world. It explores the idea of sustainability as radical conceptual model that is responsive to the challenge of balancing ecological integrity, economic prosperity and social equity across the globe. A popular education learning model is applied whereby the diversity of students' perspectives contribute to meaningful debate and dialogue on diverse topics such as climate change, armed conflict, privilege, poverty, and others in an attempt to illuminate the complexity of how all issues are interrelated. Students will ultimately develop a deeper understanding of how to manifest an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable world for all.

Start/End Date: January 8, 2008 to March 11, 2008

Day/Time: Tuesday 18:00 - 20:00
