On October 20, 2006, Santropol Roulant and the Rooftop Garden Project team met another challenge by participating in a 100 mile meal. We prepared and animated a large buffet created entirely by organic and locally grown food for the Canadian Environmental Network's annual conference in Montreal.

The challenge for the Santropol Roulant kitchen was to create a menu made mostly of ingredients coming from a radius of 100 miles (160 km) or less from Montreal. The mission was successful thanks to a menu based on vegetables and fruits of the season. Bravo to our chef Armel! This activity was also a chance to present the 2006 gardening season of the Rooftop Garden Project and to share the Roulant's food cycle with the conference participants.

In conclusion, we challenged the guests to eat more locally and organically in the upcoming months. This dynamic dinner was a delicious and successful fundraiser for the meals-on-wheels organisation!
