We have a winner for the balcony garden contest! Thanks to everyone who expressed interest ... it was a hard decision and we appreciate your openness to the idea of the rooftop garden team invading your spaces. This means that next week we will begin greening our first residential balcony! We're excited to get started, and will keep you uprised of our progress. We'll also organize an eventual visit to the site, to demonstrate different and diverse incarnations of our growing techniques.

Tuesday, June 21: 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm The Rooftop Garden Project team cordially invites you to our Second Annual Garden Party! Please join us to officially kick-off the rooftop gardening season and celebrate the summer Solstice. This year we are opening the garden in style, so don your best whites and wide brimmed hats and enjoy great conversation, a beautiful view and Santropol Roulant's gourmet finger sandwiches, natural ice teas, and other light mid-summer's delights. Santropol Roulant and Alternatives invite you to meet and greet our members, volunteers, partners and supporters, and to come see the new and wonderful creations in this year's rooftop garden. We have invited a few people from the project team and our generous supporters to share their reflections. After the presentations everyone can explore the garden, take a tour of the systems we have developed, enjoy the photo exhibition, and even take a turn with the croquet mallet.

The next rooftop volunteer orientation will take place June 30 at 6pm. If you want to volunteer on the roof this summer and you'd like to sign up for the orientation, contact jane@santropolroulant.org.
